collaboration with author
illustration, character design, storyboarding, environment design, 3D modeling
I contracted with the author of the story, pen name A.J. Leigh, in December of last year. She had a story and needed someone to turn it into a comic. The story falls into the romance genre with the added twist that the red threads of fate actually exist. We began serialization in March made it to nearly 14k followers in five months. We were also featured on the Canvas Recommended list.

I split the work 50-50 with the author. She is responsible for anything to do with words, and I am responsible for everything illustration-related.
I designed the characters and the environments. After illustrating everything by hand for a few weeks, I decided to try 3D modeling for the backgrounds and some props (the boat below, for example) to streamline my process. Please take a look at the page for 3D modeling if you're interested.

The main characters are all high school students, so the school uniform is key. I wanted to design something that read as a school uniform but also add a bit of personal flair.
